Again I find myself slacking in the blog department. This time I blame the preholiday mindset. Starting early last week the count down to the holiday marathon started in my head and everyday the excitement and lack of motivation has slowly taken over my day. Rather then focus on the task at hand my thoughts wander to the yummy food, gifts that need to be given, days off and good times with family. Some people claim you fall victim to the post Thanksgiving Turkey coma but I think the anticipation is what is really gets you. So in an effort to focus I decided to embrace the meaning of this time and list some of the things I'm thankful for.
1. My family.... I am truly blessed with a loving family. A great husband, the best parents (including the world's greatest mother and funniest father, a sister who is my best friend, the cutest niece and nephew and a very tall stepson who is going to experience his first Shearer Thanksgiving. Good Luck Austin!
2. My pooches...The Schnitz, Bogie, Putter and Flaps. I still love them even though they ate a dozen tortillas and 1/2 a loaf of bread while they were home alone this afternoon.
3. Good friends...I have made some of the best friends who are super fantastic and had to listen to me a lot this year during the challenging move.
4. The cookie, cake, brownies, pie, ice cream, donuts, pop tarts and anything made with a lot of sugar. Need I say more?
5. My job...so lucky this year that I found a job even though I only bring home "bacon bits".
6. My friend Evangeline, doing well after her cancer and clearance to eat salt again. See you at the Cotton Bowl!
7. and so many other things that make my life so great!
Happy Turkey day or maybe a Tofurky day?
